Parent Information

Welcome parents/chaperones to YMCA Camp Carter. First of all we would like to thank you for taking time out of your schedule to help with your schools Outdoor Education field trip! Without the support of parents like you this trip would not be possible. If this is your first time at Camp, be sure to take a look around our website and find out more about what we do, remember we have summer camp, year round Horseback Riding lessons, Retreats and Rentals, and more!

The typical chaperone duties while at Camp Carter

  • Help naturalists keep students on track should they become disruptive.
  • Help students follow schedule and be at each class at the right time.
  • There are times when the OE staff are not with the group such as lunch or free time. During this time you are responsible for the students, please keep track of them and make sure they are respecting camp’s property.
  • Remember parent and chaperone attendance is organized via the school only. You must be authorized by the school to attend; this is not YMCA Camp Carter’s responsibility. Each school or organization has different rules or paperwork for volunteers to complete.
